No Baby Yet...

No I'm not in labor, although I was up almost all night again with contractions. Argh. I wish they'd just turn into the "real deal". Anyway, had my 40-week appointment with my midwives today. I asked to be checked (they don't do it unless you ask, but after all this prelabor, I wanted to know for my sanity if it was doing anything!) and I have not effaced anymore (still around 40%- blah) but I'm a "stretchy 4cm, almost a 5". So at least I'm dilating, right? I wish she would move to my left side, but she is stubbornly on my right. Ah well.

I am really hoping to have her by/on Wednesday...

I was awake with "breathe thru them" contractions 3-5 minutes apart last night from 1am-4am, then I slept until 7, then they woke me up again and lasted until about 10, then they faded out. So I'm tired!!

But I hope all that pre-labor did something good! I am really kinda hoping Zion will be born tomorrow...

For those of you that have experienced this, how many days/hours was it until you went into "real" labor? With my first I woke up, had an hour of early labor, then went straight until active labor, so this is different for me!

Tor playing guitar and singing.

I had to take him back to the doctor today for the infection on his penis. They gave me another prescription and ran a lab on his urine (he enjoyed peeing in the cup!). Urine came back clear so she gave me a prescription for an antibacterial cream. It cost $43 at Wal-Mart! Yikes. I have to take him back to the doctor next Tuesday. Blah. First time we've had to take him to the doctor for anything. I sure hope this works because it is getting expensive (and because I want him to be healed, obviously).

Next week is my due date. :) Everything's ready; my folks came up Saturday and my Daddy & Joel spent the whole time installing shelving in our garage, then on Sunday Joel and I organized everything. Now our car fits in our garage! Today in the mail from my parents came the Ergo Infant Insert and a white noise machine. I ordered more diaper stuff and it should be here next week.

Tor still says "Baby Zi's coming on Wednesday." I hope it's either now through this Wednesday or next week because my midwife's assistant, who I love, will be out of town Thursday through Saturday night.

Just wanted to share.

I am in nesting mode. I have scrubbed down all our kitchen cabinets; they look great! ;)

I had my home visit from my midwife today. She said I had a lovely home . Uterus is measuring 35cm (up almost 3 cm since last week- I guess she's growing). She did another internal check because she is going out of town this Friday-Sunday. I have made progress since last week. My cervix is 3cm dilated, 40% effaced, Baby it is +1 station (I thought she had engaged; glad all that pelvic pressure wasn't all in my head!). My blood pressure is perfect and I had no swelling. Maybe Tor will be right; maybe Zion will come next Wednesday. We'll see. I've been praying that she will come at exactly the right time for her, for me, for our family, etc.

I am reading a A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael by Elisabeth Elliot; it is wonderful, challenging, comforting.

Halloween was fun; we went to a church festival during the day; Tor got his face painted, jumped in a bounce house, played games, got a free haircut (yeah it's a little uneven, but alright), ate a hotdog, and had a great time. Then that night we went trick-or-treating with friends; Tor loved being a "inja", handing out gospel tracts at each door, and carrying his candy bag (he did not care about the candy much).

This weekend consists of Rich & Emily coming Friday night; Emily will watch Tor which the rest of us go listen to the last of Winkie Pratney's speaking engagements before he leaves for New Zealand. Then Saterday, my folks are coming into town to help us organize our garage enough to fit my car (I hope!). Good times ahead.

Some family has already asked for Christmas wishlists (I guess that is next month, huh?), so here you go!
